New Look for Sewing Parties

Sewing parties are no longer for grandmas and gossip. DIY'er Kristie Albert explores how sewing parties are coming back in a big way( Click here to see the article). Here are sew.n.love we are hoping to put our own twist on the idea with "sewcial" events in your own home. We're working on a flyer this week to roll out to friends, family and our wonderful readers in the San Diego area!
In the mean time we are working hard at developing patterns for our parties so guests walk away with unique DIY pieces.
Keep Sewing!

Time Flies

Oops... Time sure does seem to fly when your sewing. One minute we're sewing and editing our apron pattern and the next we're making three new patterns. We seem to have gone a little overboard, but we LOVE it! We promise to take photos and update tomorrow night as we're sewing( just discovered the blogger app for iphone).
Thanks for you patience. We promise it's worth it!

Our tester class.....

This weekend we are hosting our first DIY project night. We have a few girlfriends coming over to test out our apron pattern and see how we do teaching. It's a perfect way for everyone to learn. We test our pattern and skills, our friends learn how to make aprons and you get to learn how well we post blog projects. It is a win, win, win situation.

Do you have any DIY projects planned for this week?

Stay tuned for our apron!

Making progress

We found the perfect sewing machine for our classes... I'm kidding. This machine is an antique Singer from the 1950's and will be our inspiration and mascot.
What inspires you to sew?

Hello World!

Hello All!

Like many people wanting to start a business, I saw an empty space for a modern fabric store in San Diego with lessons for every sewing level, making useful products.

We are in the beginning stages of our store, but I want to get our name out there so San Diegans can learn who and what we are.

sew.n.love is a modern cotton fabric store with trendy prints for every taste. There will be sewing classes for every level. We will teach basics, self alterations, projects from patterns and so much more. We will also offer in store sewing machine rental  for the city sewers(like me) that don't have space in their apartments for sewing projects.

Tune in for teaser videos of our classes and the progress of our little store.

We are so excited to grow and learn with San Diego!
